Sister Maria Chen: A Light in Our Community

Words of appreciation for their service

""When my husband was in the hospital, meals just started showing up at our door without us having to ask. Sister Chen somehow knew exactly what we needed before we even said a word.""

""I’ll never forget how she checked in on our family every single week during a really hard time. It wasn’t just the help—it was the way she made us feel seen and cared for.""

Member Highlight

Sister Maria Chen has exemplified Christlike service through her dedicated work as our Relief Society Compassionate Service Coordinator.

Over the past year, she has organized meal trains for families welcoming new babies, coordinated support for members facing medical challenges, and created a network of volunteers ready to serve at a moment’s notice.

Her gentle spirit and organizational talents have brought comfort to dozens of families during their times of greatest need. Beyond her calling, Sister Chen has also volunteered countless hours at the local food bank and initiated a monthly service project where youth and adults work together to serve the community.

Her example has inspired many in our ward to look outward and serve with greater purpose. She often says that serving others has strengthened her own testimony and brought her closer to the Savior. We are grateful for Sister Chen’s tireless efforts and her willingness to minister with such love and dedication.
