American Fork 34th Ward

Ward Bishopric

Meet the leaders serving our ward

John Cook

Bishop
You’re going to love Bishop Cook. He’s one of those people who just makes you feel like you matter, he really is genuinely glad to see you. He’s spent his career helping teams and organizations come together, but honestly, his real superpower is making people feel at home. He and his wife, Karen, have four daughters and one son, and if you get him talking about his family, you’ll see his whole face light up. We’re so glad he’s leading our ward.

Adam Gardner

First Counselor
Adam is one of those guys who’s just easy to be around. He works as a physician assistant, speaks fluent Spanish, and somehow still finds time to coach his kids’ baseball and basketball teams. Oh, and the whole family loves fishing and snowboarding. So if you ever need tips, he’s your guy. He and his wife, Brooke, have two daughters and two sons, and you can tell they’re having a blast raising them. Adam’s got a big heart and a calm presence, and we’re really excited to serve with him.

Glen Robins

Second Counselor
Glen is the kind of person who surprises you. He’s a State Farm agent by day, but did you know he also writes thriller novels? He and his wife, Laurie, have six kids (two daughters and four sons), so their house is never boring. Glen is thoughtful, creative, and always willing to lend a hand. We’re lucky to have him in the bishopric, and we think you’ll really enjoy getting to know him.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get involved as a new member?

Start by attending Sunday services! Introduce yourself to members or leaders—we’d love to welcome you. New members are often invited to ward events, and there are service opportunities for everyone.

Absolutely. All are welcome to join us for Sunday services. You’ll experience our community and learn about our faith in a respectful, no-pressure environment.

Yes. As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we follow Jesus Christ. He is the Son of God, our Savior, and the foundation of our faith.

Some of our beliefs and practices may differ from other Christian denominations, but our commitment to Jesus Christ is unwavering. We try to live His teachings every day and become more like Him.

Most congregations follow a similar Sunday schedule. Services begin with a main gathering called a sacrament meeting, where we sing hymns, pray, and hear uplifting talks shared by members of the congregation.

The most sacred part is the sacrament (similar to communion), where we remember Jesus Christ and renew our commitment to Him.

Afterward, smaller classes are held for children, youth, and adults. These classes are a chance to learn, ask questions, and build community.
